Douglas Walker Harold's Obituary
Douglas Walker Harold Sr., 102, of Saint Petersburg, FL passed Sunday April 28th, 2019.
Douglas was born to Otis and Lillian Harold on September 7th, 1916 in Madison, West Virginia. He married Norma Harold in 1980, and they lived together in Saint Petersburg, FL. Together they raised Nico from the age of 5 after he lost his mother Iris. He leaves as his legacy two children: Douglas Walker Harold Jr., and Nico Anson Harold. His children remember him as a loving father, and a decorated veteran.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Rosalie and his second wife Norma.
Douglas was one of the first naval cryptologists from the ‘On the Roof Gang’ and was a survivor of Pearl Harbor, the Battle of the Coral Sea, and the Battle of Midway.
A funeral service is scheduled for Friday May 3rd, 2pm at Memorial Park Funeral and Cemetery 4900 54th Ave N, Saint Petersburg, FL 33709. Robert Swick will officiate the ceremony. Flowers may be sent to Memorial Park.
