Dorothy Aldrich Swenson's Obituary
Swenson, Dorothy A., 97, of St. Petersburg, went to heaven on May 20, 2020. She was born in Buffalo, New York and earned a High School Diploma. As a teenager, she moved with her family to St. Petersburg, FL. In 1944, she met and married the love of her life, Glenn A. Swenson, who was serving in the U. S. Coast Guard in St. Petersburg. Dorothy and Glenn lived, worked, and raised their family together for 67 years. Dorothy was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She worked as a School Cafeteria Manager for 35 years in both elementary and high schools. She was an active member of Mirror Lake Christian Church for many years, but presently is a member of Palm Lake Christian Church. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn, her sister, Norma Whitaker, and her brother, Richard Billingham. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Nita Wallace; son, Glenn Swenson, Jr.; many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, Nita and Glenn request that you honor Dorothy by spending time with friends and family celebrating life together in a cherished activity. A memorial service may be held at a later date.
