Dorothy M Moon's Obituary
Dorothy Moon, 83, of Clermont, FL went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 12th 2018.
Born August 18th, 1934 in Toronto, Canada to Samuel and Evelyn Eakin. Dorothy was proceeded into heaven by her loving husband Dr. Kenneth Moon. They were married for 56 years.
She is survived by her 4 daughters – Melody Thomas and her husband Larry; Melinda Bertz and her husband Doug; Melissa Moon; Melanie Moon and her husband Alain. Her 4 grandchildren – Brooke Orr and her husband Jeffrey, Brittany Wilder and her husband Mike, Christopher Bertz and his wife Christina; Samantha Bertz. And, her two great grandchildren – Rylan Wilder and Ansley Wilder.
Dorothy had a distinguished life in music and ministry. She graduated for the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto and had a second degree from Trinity College in Dunedin, FL. She served the Lord as the minister of Music at Northside Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL 1957 – 1979; 1st Baptist of San Jose in San Jose, CA 1979 – 1982; Crossroads Baptist Church in St. Petersburg, FL 1982 – 1985; Perry Hall Baptist Church in Perry Hall, MD 1993 – 2003. She also worked for Fisher and Saul Law Offices from 1986 – 1991. Dorothy and Ken retired to Clermont, FL in 2003.
Dorothy became a United States Citizen in 1995.
Dorothy will be laid to rest in a family graveside service om May 27th at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL – with Rev. Al Tedder officiating.
