Doris Lassig Love's Obituary
On July 12, 2015 Doris Lassig Love passed away peacefully at home of natural causes.
Doris was born in Toronto, Canada on August 6, 1931 to Herman and Anna Lassig. The Lassig family moved to Rochester, NY when Doris was a child. Doris graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in Rochester and worked as a Secretary at Eastman Kodak for many years. In 1961 Doris married and within a few years, moved to Avon, NY to begin raising a family. Doris returned to secretarial work with the State of New York once her children were in high school. Doris moved to St. Petersburg, FL in 1991 to care for her aging Mother and stayed in Florida thereafter, enjoying her retirement.
Doris was a member of the St. Vincent’s Episcopal Church where she had many dear friends. Doris cherished her volunteer work with the Palms of Pasadena Hospital and later the St. Vincent’s Episcopal Church Thrift Shop in Gulfport, FL. Doris enjoyed reading, crocheting, crafts, crossword puzzles, TV game shows and the Tampa Bay Rays baseball team.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents and half-brother Manfred Lassig.
Doris is survived by her son George H. Love of Newark, OH, daughter Ann C. Love of Jensen Beach, FL, Sister-in-Law Sigrun LaSalle of Rochester, NY, several nieces and nephews and many beloved friends.
Interment and Memorial Service for Doris will be held at 11am Wednesday August 12, 2015 at the Woodlawn Memory Gardens located at 101 58th Street South, St.Petersburg, FL Gathering of family and friends to follow at St. Vincent's Episcopal Church 5441 Ninth Avenue North, St. Petersburg, FL
The interment for Herman and Anna Lassig will be completed at the same time at the Memorial Gardens next to Doris.
