French, Donald A. Jr.; "The Cross Man"; 82 of St. Petersburg died at home Tuesday 3/27/07. Born in Detroit Michigan & came here in 1950. A decorated Marine who served on Guam in the Pacific theater. He was awarded the Bronze Star, two Purple Hearts & various commendations. he retired from Florida Power Corp after 35 years as an electrician. He was an active member of Garden Crest Presbyterian Church for 25 years where he served as an elder & deacon. He was also scout master of Boy Scout troop 361 based at Garden Crest. A widower since 2003, he was a beloved father and friend. Survivors include: daughter Debbie Pulkrabek of Venice, Fl; son Don French of Treasure Island & daughter Denise McKeehan of Odessa FL; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
