Donald "Don" Miller's Obituary
Miller, Donald Bryan, 73, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother and Uncle, went home to be with the Lord on October 17, 2023, under care of Suncoast Hospice. He was born in Akron, Ohio on July 18, 1950, to Raymond B. and Margaret Miller, and moved with his family to St. Petersburg, Florida in 1951. He loved God and was a faithful Christian. He is survived by his loving family: Cherished Wife, Madge “Mardi” Miller; Adored Daughters, Michelle Huebener (Michael), Cynthia Watson (Kevin), Jennifer Bernard (Cameron), and Christine Helf; Treasured Grandchildren, Cassidy Huebener, Bradley Watson, Marissa Watson, Lindsey Watson, Devin Bernard, Jason Bernard, Philip Helf and Christopher Helf; Loving Brothers, Michael R. Miller (Bonnie) and Steven C. (Brenda)(Predeceased) and many dear nieces and nephews. Don worked for many years as the Operations Manager for E. S. Lazzari Construction Company before buying the firm. In 1995, he went to work at Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) as a Senior Construction Engineering Inspector until his retirement in 2019. His knowledge, experience and understanding of both sides of the industry made him an excellent inspector and mentor for those new to the field. Don was a great example of a well-lived Christian life. He read his Bible daily. His prayers were always for others and not for himself. Don was a joy to be around and always could find the humorous side of any situation. He was a strong man in thought, will and action. He loved sports and played baseball and basketball throughout his life. He was a rabid golfer who inherited his love of the sport from his parents. He was a long-time Florida Gator fanatic and an enthusiastic follower of the Tampa Bay Rays and Tampa Bay Lightning. He had an everlasting love for his family. They were his greatest joy and comfort. Even though he was unable to attend, he loved watching videos of the grandchildren’s activities. His love of life and family will continue for future generations. We have eternal gratitude for the loving assistance of our daughters, brother-in-law, Pete Lazzari, and all family and friends. There was always someone to lend a hand, whether it was putting up storm shutters, a weekend electrical problem, technical support or help in getting to a medical appointment. We will always be grateful for the support and encouragement from our KCA family. Don had a well-lived, well-loved life. He will be loved and missed…always, forever…and a day. Our deepest appreciation for the compassionate caring staff at Suncoast Hospice. In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to Suncoast Hospice (5771 Roosevelt Boulevard, Clearwater, FL 33760 or “suncoasthospicefoundation.org”) or Yankee Arnold Ministries (“yankeearnold.com”). A Celebration of Life will be held graveside at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33709 (south of 54th Avenue North), on Saturday, October 21st at 11AM. There will be a reception and light refreshments immediately following the service.
