Donald G. Cheney's Obituary
Cheney, Donald G., 94, of St. Petersburg, passed away at home under Hospice care on May 1, 2011. He was an amazing husband, father and grandfather who went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Cheney of 37 years; and two children, Donna Baylor (Mark) of St. Petersburg and Doug Cheney (Rene') of Perrysburg, OH. He was Grandpa to Christopher Cheney (Nancy), Matthew Baylor, Lauren Baylor; and his sister, Iva Mae Cheney. He also is survived by his stepchildren and their families, Carol Moore, Rebecca Laster, Brian Commons and Richard Commons. A veteran of WWII; don moved from Endicott, NY in 1946 to St. Petersburg. Don retired as President of C.J. Stoll, Inc., and remained Chairman of the Board until his death. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling with his wife, playing bridge with friends, and watching the Rays. In his younger years, he enjoyed boating and golfing. He was a member of the St. Petersburg Yacht Club, Lions Club, Shriners, 32 degree masons and past member of the Seminole Country Club. He was a faithful long time member of Christ United Methodist Church. He will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation is to be held from 1:00 - 2:00 PM Thursday, May 5th, at Memorial Park Funeral Home with services to follow at 2:00. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions to Suncoast Hospice in honor of Don.
