I have a memory of you and Auntie Lois visiting us in Miami one year, maybe it was 1991 or 92, I was around 4. I gave you a book to read to me, and you read it so fast and with a silly voice, it sounded like a sped up audio tape. It had us both laughing a lot. It’s a happy memory I’ll never forget. I’m glad I was able to visit you, Mark and Melissa a couple of times in St. Pete before the pandemic. I have always felt a strong soul bond with you, Uncle Don. I miss you very much.
Love always and forever,
Cristina
I first crossed paths with Don in Las Vegas in the 1970s. I was a guy on the sound crew and Don was a legendary musician and band leader. We again crossed paths in Washington DC when we both participated in the first inauguration of Ronald Reagan. It wasn’t until we again crossed paths when he walked into the studio I was working in Hollywood in the early 1980s. That was too much of a coincidence. From that moment on we weren’t just exchanging friendly hellos. We were friends. I found we had so much in common because Mark was also working with a friend of mine from high school days. Carole and I were relatively new to LA and we were adopted in the Vincent clan. Don, Lois, Mark, and Melissa became our family. We spent many holidays together and got to know the love that Don shared. I even got to officiate Don and Lois’s renewal of vows on the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary. Carole and I are are so grateful to have know the warmth and generosity of all the Vincents. Thank you Don. I know our paths will cross again in another time and place.
