I had the pleasure of working with Diane about five years at St Pete General. She was so kind and I always enjoyed hearing of her adventures. She was a person I truly admired.

I remember Diane as a beautiful woman, mother and friend. I am Mary McCauley Weaver. I used to babysit for the Wilroy’s when I was about 12 or 13 and got to know her as an adult when I moved back into the neighborhood as an adult. She had such a sweet smile and talking to her always made me happy. She was one of those rare people that always looked on the positive side of life. She enriched my life for knowing her. I had the pleasure of working with Diane for several years at St. Petersburg Hopital. She was always involved in some craft activity or home project. I admired how many things she was involved with. I will always remember stories from her vacation adventures. Most of all she loved her family.

I have so many wonderful memories of Diane. From vacations to Vero Beach and Calloway Gardens, to simply visiting on the back patio by the huge avocado tree. I loved Diane so much! I have a memory that I would like to share. When I first met Diane and engaged in conversation with her, I noticed that she had a very familiar accent but, I just couldn't figure out where it was from. The next time we talked, it hit me, that was a Southern Maryland accent, no doubt about it. Well, that led to many conversations with her about Maryland and reminiscing about the same foods and places we both had been to. One thing for sure she enjoyed the famous Maryland Blue Crab with Old Bay Seasoning.

I have a memory that I would like to share. The first time I met Diane I noticed that she had a very familiar accent but, I wasn't sure where it was from. The second time I talked with her it hit me, that was the Southern Maryland accent that my father and friends had when I lived there as a child. After that, every time I met with here at family gatherings we would talk at great length reminiscing about Southern Maryland. I also learned rather quickly that we shared a passion for the delicious Maryland Blue Crab.
