Denise Carol La Sala's Obituary
La Sala, Denise Carol, born November 20, 1956, went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, August 4, 2017. She was born in Clearwater and grew up here. After living in NJ for many years, she and her husband Alfred La Sala moved to St. Petersburg, first on a part-time basis and last year moved here permanently. Denise retired 12 years ago due to health issues from the Metropolitan Opera Club at Lincoln Center in New York City. She graduated from Dixie Hollins in 1974. She grew up in and was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church of Pinellas Park. After moving north, she attended church in different cities. Denise is survived by her husband Alfred; son Jeff Clark; daughters Jennifer La Sala, Susan Vittoria and Christine Francione; her parents Charles and Beverly Mixson; 3 brothers Bruce J. Loubet Jr. (Laurie), David Mixson (Heather) and Steven Mixson (Sandra); 3 grandchildren Julia, Loren and Joseph; aunt Patricia Andrews; 4 nephews and 4 nieces. She was predeceased by her aunt Joyce Heffernan. Viewing will be held on Friday, August 11th at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th Street North, St. Petersburg from 3pm to 5pm. The funeral service will take place on Saturday, August 12th at the 1st United Methodist Church of Pinellas Park, 9025 49th Street North at 1pm and interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Denise’s name to 1st United Methodist Church Food Pantry or the Leukemia Society.
