Deborah Iversen's Obituary
Deborah (Debbi) Iversen passed away on January 15, 2023 after a courageous fight with pancreatic cancer.
She led a life of kindness, strength, intellect, and creativity. Those around her were inspired by her energy, her planning, and her leadership. She loved being with and doing things for people. Things happened when Debbi was around!
She grew up in the hills of northern New Jersey (graduated from Jefferson Township High School) and enjoyed the freedom and beauty of the rural setting. While guiding 2 children and 3 stepchildren through childhood, teenage years, into adulthood and working full-time, she proudly obtained her BA (summa cum laude) from Fairleigh Dickenson University. An enthusiastic student, she quickly earned her MBA from Northeastern University. Her professional career spanned several Fortune 100 companies in the finance and pharmaceutical sectors - as an IT consultant and Department Manger building data centers, designing and operating network operations centers, and providing mission-critical support for international technology infrastructure. Throughout her personal and professional life she was successful because wherever she went and whatever she did she built enduring personal connections rooted in empathy and respect.
After moving to St Petersburg in 2017 in deference to her husband’s career, she began volunteering at the St Pete Free Clinic and St. Anthony’s Hospital (both in St. Petersburg). These opportunities gave rise to new relationships to share her natural passion for service to others. Professionally, she devoted herself to full-time project and program management roles at QRG (a premier online retail group that includes Home Shopping Network, QVC, Zulily, and more) where she happily worked until her last days.
Her planning and energy brought her, the family, and friends to wondrous adventures at home and across the globe. She leaves her spark and love of life to her husband of 22 years Erik, to her son Devin, her daughter Jessica (husband Jonah), her siblings Denise (husband Bobby), Lou, John, and Dania (husband Robert), her ex-husband and father of her children Jack, and her step-children Brynn (husband Damian) and grandchildren Bryce and Carson, Chelsea (husband Ryan), and Courtney (husband Allen). She also leaves an extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews in northern New Jersey and across the US. And she leaves a vast community of life-long friends and co-workers who will miss her humor and boundless energy.
It is impossible to capture the vibrance and energy with which she lived her life in these few paragraphs. We encourage the reader to fill in all the missing details in happy remembrances with her family and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM.
