Deborah Anne Dunham's Obituary
Deborah “Deb” White-Dunham, 73, of Palmetto, FL, left this world unexpectedly on March 28, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, adventure, and boundless generosity. Born on February 10, 1952, in Omaha, NE, to Mary Lou (née Walling) and Glenn White, Deb was brilliant, compassionate, and unyieldingly independent. From the moment she entered the world, she was a force of nature, carving out a bold and beautiful life.
Deb’s heart was as vast as the places she explored, and her love for family, friends, and her many cherished pups knew no bounds. A free spirit with an insatiable curiosity, she spent her childhood in France and Italy, an experience that ignited a lifelong passion for travel. She never lost the thrill of discovering new corners of the world—her recent journeys took her to Ireland and Africa, and she had plans for Morocco, Portugal, and Iceland. But no matter how far she roamed, she always found her way to those she loved, visiting family and friends spread near and far.
Her adventurous spirit was matched only by her kindness. Deb dedicated much of her life to improving public housing across the U.S., believing that everyone deserved a place to call home. Her laugh was infectious, her presence magnetic, and she had a rare gift for seeing beauty in the simplest moments—a sunrise over the ocean, a shared meal, a dog’s loyalty.
A true nature lover, Deb felt most at peace by the water or among the mountains. Whether walking along the Florida shoreline at sunset or in the crisp air of the Colorado Rockies, she found solace in the world’s quiet, untamed places. She often said nature was her sanctuary, a place where she was in sync with the waves, the wind, and the rustling leaves.
Her creativity knew no limits, especially in the kitchen, where she transformed unforgettable meals into cherished memories. Her legendary family dinners were more than just food—they were gatherings filled with laughter, stories, and an abundance of love. Those who sat at her table left with full stomachs and fuller hearts.
Deb leaves behind a family who adored her: her husband, Richard Dunham; her children, Brian Dunham (Coreena), Chris Dunham, Jennifer Saylor, and Stacie Dunham; her sisters, Dee White-Bradt (Chris) and Diane White (Peggy, deceased); her grandchildren, Faith Saylor (Hunter), Cody, Kayleigh, and Keegan Dunham; and her nephew, Ian Bradt (Josh). She was preceded in death by her parents and many dear extended family members.
A celebration of Deb’s extraordinary life will be held at a later date, where stories of her laughter, kindness, and adventurous spirit will be shared by those who loved her most. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lab Rescue of Florida, ensuring that Deb’s lifelong compassion continues in the form of rescued and rehomed dogs—just as she would have wanted.
Deb’s journey on this earth may have ended, but the love she gave, the joy she spread, and the adventures she embraced will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
