Daniel Allen Topping Jr's Obituary
Daniel Allen Topping, Jr., 40, of Burlington, Iowa, died on Aug. 20, 2016, at his home.
Born Jan. 18, 1976 (Super Bowl day) in St. Petersburg, FL, he was the son of Daniel and Louise Topping.
Mr. Topping was a sales representative.
He was drafted out of high school to play baseball for the San Francisco Giants organization, and he played for the Burlington Bees. Injuries, however, put an end to his playing career.
The youth of Burlington were lucky to have had Dan as a coach. His knowledge of the sport was exceptional, as was his demeanor and patience. Rounding that off was his great sense of humor that made everything so much fun.
Besides coaching Dan enjoyed sports live and on TV, but above all else he adored his children, Daniel III 16 and Megan 14. They kept their Dad very busy playing every sport there is - just as he had.
Survivors include his mother, Louise of Largo, FL; son, Daniel of Burlington, IA; daughter, Megan of Burlington, IA; a great niece Mikayla in Chiefland, FL; and several aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephews in FL.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Big Dan; sister, Dawn; and niece Tina Marie.
