Daniel J Laskey's Obituary
Daniel J Laskey, 61, of St. Petersburg passed peacefully at his home after a hard-fought
battle with cancer, on March 21, 2025. He was born in Pittsburgh PA on February 14, 1964,
moving to St. Petersburg in 1986.
Dan devoted over 37 years to Kane’s Furniture Distribution Center, He was a leader, a
mentor and an inspiration of hard work and dedication. There was nothing Dan could not
and would not do, and he will be remembered as a valued member of the Kane's family for
many years to come.
Dan enjoyed traveling and the adventures that he would experience. From swimming with
dolphins to hiking Angels Landing, he absorbed every moment. An avid cyclist, Dan could
be seen on the trails every Sunday morning. He enjoyed his workouts and his workout
family at his local gym who would challenge him daily and cheer on his accomplishments.
Neighbors would find him every Saturday morning washing every vehicle in the driveway
and, while he was at it, would often mow a few yards around the house, just because he
“liked the way the neighborhood looks” when it was done! He gave his all to everything and
everyone he touched.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia, son Daniel, father David, sister Sherry (Roger) Sossong, and
brother Edward. He also leaves behind nieces Chloe and Keira, nephews Cole and Daniel,
as well as his ex-wife and mother to his son, Kimberly. He was preceded in death by his
mother Georgia.
His services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery on April 12, 2025.
Visitation will start at 1:30 pm with the service at 2:00 pm, inurnment will immediately
follow the service
