Deputy Daniel Joseph DiCicco's Obituary
Daniel Joseph DiCicco (Danny) died April 14, 2013, at Northside Hospital where he received exceptional and compassionate care. Danny was born on October 25, 1983, in St Petersburg, Florida to parents Paul and Cheryl DiCicco. Danny attended Westgate Elementary, Tyrone Middle, and Dixie Hollins High School, graduating in 2002. Danny's high school career was not without incident. In 2001, Danny was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma. A diagnosis such as cancer would devastate most individuals - not Danny. Danny took this news in stride and made his best effort to keep family, friends, and football at the center of his life. Despite being weakened from chemotherapy and radiation, Danny managed to continue playing football. In 2002, Danny accomplished a remarkable milestone; he beat cancer. Danny continued his education at the University of South Florida and completed a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in 2006. Shortly after graduating from USF, he attended the police academy at Manatee Technical Institute. After completion, Danny was hired by the Pinellas County Sheriff's office as a Deputy Sheriff. One of Danny's most prized accomplishments was testing for and being extended membership to the Special Weapons and Tactics Team (SWAT). Danny served on the SWAT team for a period of two years. He was working towards his master's degree in Public Administration at Nova Southeastern University. Danny is survived by his parents Paul and Cheryl DiCicco, brother Paul DiCicco (Nick Cardinale), grandmother Crystal Coester, Aunts Mary Finch, Rita Hollinger (George), Eileen Jaeger, Uncles Thomas DiCicco (Theresa) Wayne Coester (Joan) Stephen Coester, Les Bailey (Donna, predeceased) and cousins David Greim, Jennifer Bailey, Fred Jaeger, Kim Fithin, Lauren Coester, Sarah Schilke, Samantha Williams, Thomas Andriko, Jennifer Owen, Brianna, Ricky, and Talia Jaeger, and Kelsey Fithin.
