Cynthia E Ferris' Obituary
It is with deep love and sadness that we share the passing of Cynthia Evan Ferris, of Clearwater, Florida, who fell asleep in the Lord on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, after her courageous fight against breast cancer.
Cynthia was an angel sent to Earth, survived by her husband Robert Ferris, and was a devoted mother to Kim Wagner (Michael) who will continue her legacy. She is also survived by her mother, Stasia Segallis (preceded in death by her husband, Peter), her sister Mindy Garbarino (preceded in death by her husband, Richard), and brother Greg Segallis (Michelle), as well many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family and friends who will carry her memory eternally in their hearts.
After beginning her career and working many years at IBM, Cynthia found her true calling in education, dedicating many years to teaching and working within the Pinellas county school system where she inspired students and colleagues alike. Her hands were rarely still as she loved cooking and baking, playing with her puppy Lola, and working on home improvement projects. She lead by example, and her intelligence, kindness, and quiet strength left a lasting mark on everyone who knew her.
Cynthia was a strong Greek Orthodox Christian who lived with humility, valued honesty, and was always the one others turned to for advice, guidance, or comfort. Though her cancer tried to take so much, her life was filled with immeasurable love, laughter, and ten lifetimes’ worth of special moments shared with those she cherished most.
Her family asks that you join in celebrating her life with a visitation on Monday evening, October 20th, from 6:00-7:30pm at Memorial Park Funeral Home (5750 49th Street N, St. Petersburg, FL 33709). A funeral service will follow on Tuesday, October 21st, at 10:00am at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church (3600 76th St N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710), with burial at Memorial Park at 11:30am. Reception immediately after.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites those who wish to honor Cynthia’s memory to consider a donation to breast cancer research at Moffitt Cancer Center, and to show a little extra kindness and care - just like she always did.
