Mr. Crocker Brigham Clegg MD's Obituary
Crocker Brigham Clegg, MD, 91, of Treasure Island, Florida, passed away September 5, 2015. Born in Ranger, Texas on November 28, 1923 to parents, William Gifford and Jean Brigham Clegg. He attended The Francis W. Parker School, Chicago, IL; Wesleyan University; and University of Louisville School of Medicine. He interned at Indianapolis General, Indianapolis, IN and completed his surgical residency at the Nichols VA Hospital, Louisville, KY. Brigham was a World War II vet, served as Lieutenant j.g. aboard the USS LSM 436 in the Pacific Theater. His service medals included the American Area, Asiatic-Pacific Area and World War II Victory. Following his surgical residency, Brigham joined the Medical Practice of Sharman, Clegg and Hall, MDs, in Elizabethtown, KY. He opened a surgical practice in St. Petersburg in 01970. He enjoyed tennis, golf, reading and classical music; and was a member of the Treasure Island Tennis and Yacht Club and Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Jean Karnes Clegg and daughter Janet Clegg Kerstner. Survived by sons, Crocker Brigham (Beverly) Clegg II of Sarasota, FL and William Gifford (Francine) Clegg III, of Seminole, FL. Additional survivors include 1 granddaughter, 4 grandsons, 2 step-grandsons 9 great-grandchildren, and a cousin, Jane Brigham of Westfield, IN. Memorial Park Funeral Home is handling arrangements. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Hope Old Roman Catholic Church at 5501 32nd Avenue North, Pinellas Park, FL 33565 on Friday, Sept. 18 at 10:30 a.m. A private (Family only) graveside service will follow.
