Clara Saggan's Obituary
Saggan, Clara Irene, passed away January 4, 2010 at Hospice House Woodside. Clara was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 13, 1915. She was married to John Francis Daley from 1949 until he passed away in 1983. They spent many happy years together. In 1984, Clara married Ernest Saggan and they remained happily married until his death in 1993. Clara worked for the Bank of the Commonwealth in Detroit until her retirement in 1968. She enjoyed retirement living in Pinellas Park and pursued her love of travel for the last 30 years. A longtime supporter of the Hospice Organization, Clara worked as a volunteer at the hospice thrift store in St. Petersburg for 15 years and was recognized as a Volunteer of the Year in 2007. Clara was the last surviving member of her immediate family, mother, Iva May Dillon, father, Charles Hetzler, brother, Clyde Dillon and step-father, Joseph Dillon. She is survived by her niece Karen Penryce and nephew Michael Dillon as well as a relative by marriage Cheryl (William) Cryer and many loving friends, especially Carolyn Hill, Juan Daly and Lisa Long. Clara's generosity of spirit was inspiring to many and her memory will live on in their hearts and deeds. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Suncoast Hospice
