Charles E. Mistretta's Obituary
The family of Charles E. Mistretta, Jr sadly announces his quiet death on Saturday, March 14th, 2026.
Charlie, the son of Charles Edward, Sr and Margaret (Noviasky) Mistretta, was born in Torrington, CT on July17, 1937 and served in the US Marine Corp for several years. He married Patricia A. Reichenberg on May 19, 1962 and moved with her from Old Lyme, CT to St. Petersburg, FL in 1974. Together with Pat, he worked at Essilor of America for 20 years. After that, Charlie worked several jobs, including Derby Lane and JC Penney from which he retired. Pat became ill and Charlie was a devoted caregiver until her death on July 30, 2002.
Charlie was predeceased by his parents and brother. He is survived by his wife’s family, including his wife’s sister in law, Edith Reichenberg of Torrington, CT, his wife’s sisters, Betty Anne Longobucco of North Branford, CT and Frances Santo of Old Saybrook, CT and eighteen nieces and nephews who remember him with great fondness.
No services will be held at Charlie’s request but his remaining family will toast him when they gather together in October.
