Charles Franklin Logsdon's Obituary
Charles Franklin Logsdon (Charlie to many) entered his eternal home on September 28th surrounded by family.
He was born in Ames, Iowa, a farm boy during the depression. He learned about adult responsibilities and hard work early, driving tractors, shooting game and animal husbandry. He spent his career in the Navy, witnessing the explosion of the Atom bomb. His tour of duties included Australia, China and Japan. He met his future wife while on furlough and together they raised four daughters. He was stationed at the Pentagon during the Cuban Missile crisis and the assassination of President Kennedy. He was passionate about the military, history and was a life long student and avid reader. He was devoted to his family and his faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Logsdon (nee Van Ryswyk) and his daughter, Kay Wightman. His remaining family includes his daughter Stephanie Dasch, her son, David Eisenbart, wife, Sara, their children Carlos, Caleb and Faith. Daughter Kari Parker, and her children, Mercedes Porter, husband, Jeff and children Dalyn and Ava. Her son, Matthew DuMouchel, wife, Hannah and son, Noa Ari. His daughter, Doris Logsdon. His grand daughter Katrina Grenon and her sons, Zachary and Damian.
He was loved by many and is deeply missed.
His memorial will be held October 17, 2024 at 11:30am with viewing at 10:30am at Northside Baptist Church, 6000 38th Avenue North, St. Petersburg with reception following at the East Hall while family attends interment at the gravesite. All welcome.
