Charles E. Kennedy's Obituary
Charles Edward Kennedy, 92, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026. He was born on a farm on December 29, 1933, in Baker, Florida, and lived a life defined by hard work, meaningful service, and a quiet devotion to those he loved.
Chuck (or Charley to his family) proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict aboard the USS Bremerton. His service instilled in him discipline, steadiness and a love for our country and the freedoms we enjoy. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in various callings throughout his life.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Sue Ellen Edwards Kennedy, and his children Doug, Frank, and Patrick Kennedy as well as 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Charles Leon Kennedy and his daughter Julie Ann Kennedy Thompson.
He will be remembered for his great work ethic, the things he built and fixed with his own hands, for always being willing to lend a helping hand, and for a love of his family and friends.
A viewing will be held at the Memorial Park Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, Florida on Tuesday, April 14th from 5-7pm. A second viewing will also take place at the Brackney Funeral Home in Crestview, Florida on Friday, April 17th from 5-7pm. The graveside service will take place at Cotton Cemetery in Good Hope, Florida on Saturday, April 18th at 9:30am
