Cecilia Castillo's Obituary
Cecilia Castillo was born in Corozal, Puerto Rico in 1934 to Oliviana Ortiz and Jose Pacheco. She was a loving daughter and caring sister to her four siblings Ines, Paco, Ana and Rose.
In 1967, Cecilia met the love of her life, Jesus Castillo. Theirs was a deep and enduring love. This union lasted more than 30 years, sharing their steadfast love and many treasured moments with their four children, until his passing in 2000.
Cecilia was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She was the matriarch of her family in the truest sense, never hesitating to do what needed to be done for her family. She is survived by her children Rafael, Jeanette, Myra and Rose, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Her faith in God was a guiding light throughout her whole life, sustaining her through her remarkable journey. She also held a deep belief in the value of education, dedicating nearly ten years as a volunteer caring for children at a Catholic elementary school.
Cecilia had a strength, a beauty and a presence that touched all who knew her. At the age of 91, she passed away peacefully in St. Petersburg, Florida on March 14th, 2026.
Cecilia will always be remembered for her love for her family, her warrior spirit and deep reverence for God. She had a smile that filled everyone with hope and her laugh warmed you to the deepest parts of your soul. Cecilia’s life was a testament to love, faith and continuing strength. She will be profoundly missed.
Visitation is Monday, March 23, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM, at Memorial Park Funeral Home. The service will take place Tuesday, March 24, at 11:00 AM, with interment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
