Carolyn M. McCarthy's Obituary
Carolyn Maxine Hendley McCarthy, age 91, of Bradenton, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 19th 2026 in her home in Bradenton, Florida. She was born on October 30th 1934 in Nashville, Georgia to Malcolm and Minnie Hendley. She moved to St Petersburg, Florida in her early teens and helped in her family's nursery. She married the love of her life, Ellis Abraham Bridge Jr. November 1st 1952 in St. Petersburg, Florida. She loved God deeply. She worked as a waitress for most of her career. She was a caregiver to several loved ones through her lifetime. She was an avid gardener and could grow anything. She also loved creative writing. She is predeceased by her husband James McCarthy. She is survived by her former husband Gordon Maxwell, Washington, Pennsylvania, her daughter Ina (Gary, deceased) Bradenton, Florida, son Robbie (Denise) Ocala, Florida, son Steve (Susan) Ocoee, Florida, daughter Ellen (Wayne) Ball Ground, Georgia, sister-in-law Louise, Nashville, Georgia, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation is at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Saturday, January 24, at 11:00 am, with the Funeral starting at 12:00 pm. Interment will immediately follow.
