Mrs. Carolyn Margaret Feltner's Obituary
FELTNER, Carolyn Margaret passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at Menorah Manor, St. Petersburg. She was 90 years of age. Survived by husband of 67 years Virgil; 4 children: son Robert (Susie) Eldon, MO; daughters Patricia Bailey (Larry), also Eldon, Nanci Hawks (Kevin) and Peggy Farley (Jimmy), both of St. Petersburg. Carolyn was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral. She and Virgil joined St. Peter's Jan. 1, 1967, as choir members under the direction of Robert Setzer. They enjoyed a trip to great Britain as members of a St. Peter's choir tour where they sang in churches and cathedrals in England, Scotland and Wales. They both earned pilot's licenses in Kansas City in 1943, and enjoyed flying. In their early 50's they made a bold parachute jump, at Zephyrhills airport here in Florida! Carolyn is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Randy Feltner, Robin Feltner Shorter, Sean & Travis Hawks; 7 great-grand-children & niece & nephew, Lana Lehmann & Lon Wadsworth. Carolyn retired from the Dental Hygiene Dept. at St. Petersburg Junior College in 1982 where she was secretary. Life was filled with wonderful, blessed years when she and Virgil were hand in hand, traveling much across the country (especially in the West). Over the years, their miles were filled with smiles and life was enriched, remembering their many cross-country trips with family. The children were all born in Southern California and spent many happy years there, which provided all with deep, lasting love and friendships. Service will be held at 2 pm on Friday, Feb. 11, at St. Peter's Episcopal Cathedral, 140 4th St. N, St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her name to Menorah Manor or St. Peter's Cathedral.
