Carolyn June Brown
Born February 25, 1932 in Birmingham, AL. A 1950 Graduate from Minor High School.
She was the youngest of 5 children, her siblings Lloyd, Marie, Sonny and Sissy have all predeceased her.
She met her husband Frank at Minor High school, married soon after graduation, and they celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last year. They have 3 children, Ann Meyer (Mark), Steve, David (Angie), 4 Grandchildren Melissa, Katie, Andrew & William and 2 Great Grandchildren Brian & Danica.
June worked part time at Bethany Church and Bethany Towers and few summers at H & R Block to earn some money to pursue her love of traveling.
June’s world travels took her to China, Russia, Hong Kong, Bangkok, Africa, Egypt, England, Poland, France, Greece, Italy, and around the United States to visit family and friends. She even took a private tour of the White House. She also shared her love of travel with her Grandchildren for their High School graduation gift sending each of them on various trips to Europe.
June made friends easily and was the Matriarch of our family. She loved to talk to people. It didn’t matter who you were, your beliefs, or were you came from, everyone was a friend.
She conquered so much in her life, June beat breast cancer three times, had knee, shoulder and hip replacements and other medical conditions in between, her faith was strong and she was very active in her church. Her strength was a beacon of light.
June will be dearly missed by family and friends. Holidays won’t be the same without sitting down to the table to enjoy her cooking and talking about the events in the world.
