Carl Edward Nicks Sr.'s Obituary
Nicks, Carl Edward, Sr., 86 of St. Petersburg died September 4, 2009 at his home under the care of Hospice. Born in Nashville, TN he moved here in 1924 He was a retired firefighter from the St Petersburg Fire Department and an Army veteran of WWII Pacific Campaign. An avid youth athlete in softball and football, he played golf for many decades. He restored and rode motorcycles attending five national BMW rallies. He was a member of Skyview Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; sister, Kathryn Rankin; brothers, Donald and Harold Nicks; children, Carl Edward Nicks, Jr of Tampa, Lillian Estelle Luter of Lake Panasoffkee and Margie Nicks Gale of Franklin, TN; four granddaughters; two grandsons; two great granddaughters; three great grandsons. His wife's children; Lynn Dixon, John McNally, Ginger Rodriguez and one grandson. The family requests donations to the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast in lieu of flowers.
