Beverly Ann Smith's Obituary
Beverly Ann Smith, née Harrell, affectionately known as Bev, passed away on December 23, 2025, at the age of 82 in Pinellas County, Florida. Born on August 28, 1943, in Tampa, Florida, Beverly's life was marked by her quiet strength, a contagious smile, and a deep love for her family and pets.
Beverly attended Westshore Elementary and graduated from Boca Ciega High School in Gulfport, FL. Her career spanned several decades in banking and later as a manager at Maude's Fashions Women’s Apparel. Beyond her professional life, Beverly was a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church.
She had a passion for scrapbooking and swimming and was a notable figure in local pageantry, holding nine titles, including her first as Miss Junior Sungoddess in 1959.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. Dowdy; sister, Bonnie K. Lee; niece, Bobbie Lee; nephews, Jason Lee (Amanda) and Justin Lee (Colleen); great-nieces, Aidyn and Lola; great-nephews, Bode, Courtland, and Sawyer; and step-children, Diane Dowdy Zitelli (Jim), Ken Colgan, Jay Smith, David Smith (Cathy), many cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maude Litrico Harrell and Edward D. Harrell; and her husbands, Kenneth R. Dowdy and Jimmy J. Smith.
A memorial service for immediate family will be held on January 23, 2026. In lieu of flowers, donations in Beverly's memory are encouraged to the ASPCA of Pinellas at https://secure.aspca.org
Beverly's arrangements are being handled by Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL. Her legacy of love, kindness, and community involvement will forever be cherished by those who knew her.
