Beverly Pilkington Bernstein's Obituary
Beverly M. Pilkington (Bernstein), known affectionately as Bev, passed away April 10, 2026, at the age of 96 surrounded by family. Born on December 17, 1929, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Beverly and her family lived in Michigan before moving to St. Petersburg in 1968. She dedicated her life to her family and community, touching many lives with her volunteering, generosity and vibrant spirit.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Beverly's first love was her family. She supported her children's numerous activities with unwavering dedication and was an active member of her church, participating in both the Sanctuary and Bell choirs as well as serving as a Stephen's Minister. Her musical talents shone brightly as she played the piano for children’s choirs and toured several countries singing in the Sunshine State Choir.
Beverly's competitive nature was evident in her enjoyment of sports such as bowling, tennis, golf, ping-pong, and various card games. She was an ardent Tampa Bay Rays fan! Her enthusiasm and zest for life were infectious, making her a beloved figure in her community.
She is survived by her Children; Dorene Westlake (Doug), Dawn Boyce (Jason), Dale Pilkington (Marie), and David Pilkington (Carol); Grandchildren, Shaun Boyce (Geovanna), Rachael Westlake, Kyle Boyce (Meg), Ryan Westlake, Geoffrey Pilkington (Kathryn), Craig Pilkington, Robyn Whipple (Eric), Lindsay Hempfling (Jonathan), Dawn Hudson, Rebecca DeCosimo(Brandon) and Jessica Tehan (Matt); Great-grandchildren, Jordan Hernandez (Marco), Danielle Whipple, Bryson See, Moira Hempfling, Kara Boyce, Roman Westlake, Dylan Whipple, Ambria Allen, Derek Whipple, Gavin Pilkington, Reece Allen, Colin Pilkington, Cora Hudson, Cody Hudson, Matthew DeCosimo, Nolan DeCosimo, and Geovanni Boyce; and one Great-great-grandchild, Braxton Hernandez. She has one surviving sister, Margaret Felthaus.
Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Henry B. Pilkington, her second husband Harvey S. Bernstein, her dear parents Geoffrey and Florence Loe, and her cherished great-grandson Michael Feduccia.
A memorial service celebrating Beverly's life will be held on Saturday, May 23rd, 2026, at 11 am at Indian Rocks Church Chapel, 12685 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33776. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Beverly's memory may be made to PARC or Gulf Coast Jewish Family and Community Services, organizations that were close to her heart. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and love will continue to inspire all who knew her.
