Betty Lou Robbins' Obituary
Betty Lou Robbins, age 98, of St. Petersburg passed away the evening of April 13, 2024, at Bayfront Medical Center. Betty Lou was born in St Petersburg and was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School, Class of 1944, and attended Bixby Business School.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward E. and Pearl M. Patrick; brothers, Eugene and James Patrick; aunt, Laura Higgenbotham; nieces, Lynn Perry and Sharon Simmons; nephews, Brian Perry and Verlie Simmons; and her loving husband of 66 years, Robert.
Betty Lou is survived by her nephew and niece, Todd and Donna Robbins.
She was a longtime member of The First Baptist Church of St. Petersburg where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Department Director, and class secretary.
She worked part-time for the Webb's City Gift Shop and then at the St. Petersburg Times (now Tampa Bay Times) for 18 years. Later in life, she joined the family business, St. Petersburg Map and Blue Print Company where she retired in 1991.
Betty Lou and her husband, Robert, were avid bowlers and Tampa Bay Ray fans. Her hobbies included knitting, crafts, color pencil coloring (to keep her hands limber) and Bible word searches.
Services will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5750 49th St N on Friday, May 3rd. Visitation at 1:00PM, funeral service at 2:00pm with interment to follow.
