Betty Jean Gilbert's Obituary
Betty Jean Gilbert (née Bargo), aged 93, passed away with her family alongside on November 25, 2025, in St. Petersburg, Florida. Born on September 23, 1932, in Kentucky, Betty spent much of her professional life in Indiana where she retired from General Motors and was also a talented seamstress, a skill that reflected her love for fashion and fabric.
Betty was known for her meticulous nature, independence, resilience and nurturing spirit. She took pride in her appearance, always presenting herself with elegance. Her caring and generous personality made her a central figure within her family and community, always ensuring those around her were well-taken care of.
She leaves behind a loving family: her daughter Rhonda LeVine (Teri), grandson Aaron LeVine, great-grandchildren Lauren Rickenback and Layne Rickenback-Goulet, as well as her siblings Daniel Bargo, Diane Lloyd, and Dee Campbell. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter Tammy LeVine, Ronnie LeVine, the father of her children and former husband, Claude Gilbert, her high school sweetheart and second husband.
Betty's life was a testament to her enduring spirit and the deep love she had for her family. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and dedication that will continue to inspire.
