Betty Dickson Allen's Obituary
Betty Dickson Allen, 100, a long-time resident of St. Petersburg, passed away peacefully at her home on August 27, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Ruth Dickson, her brothers Arthur, Robert, Richard and Donald Dickson, and her husband George Allen Jr. as well as many loving friends. She was an alumnus of SPHS (1939) and SPJC. She attended the University of Alabama where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority. After she made her debut in 1940, she was married to George in 1942 and was a member of the Junior League. She was a legal secretary at the law firm of Fisher & Sauls until her retirement. She was the loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt to her daughters Gail Rogers and Patricia Petry (David); her grandchildren Shelley Cunningham (Beau), Mitchell Rogers (Kristen) and Elizabeth Martin (Gabe); her great-grandchildren Alexandra, Zoe and Cole Rogers; Abbie, Max and Casey Cunningham; and Hannah and Madison Martin as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. Heartfelt thank you to the wonderful Orange team of Empath/Suncoast Hospice. A private graveside service will be held. Donations in Betty's memory may be made to Empath/Suncoast Hospice or a charity of your choice.
