Bertram David Walton's Obituary
Walton, Bertram D. “City Dave”, 81 passed from this world October 20th, 2014. He retired in 1973 from the US Coast Guard as an E8 Senior Chief Gunners Mate after 21years of service which included weapons training to the secret service for the US Treasury Department. Following his military career he worked for the City of St. Petersburg for 24years retiring in 1997. He was a member of the USCG Chief Petty Officers Association, AmVets Post 7467 where he once served as Post Commander, American Legion Post 104 and VFW Post 4364 men’s auxiliary. Born in Detroit MI, he moved to Florida in 1963 after transferring from Kodiak Alaska Naval Air Station and wanted to call Florida his home upon retirement. The youngest of 5 children, he is preceded in death by his wife Drema; parents Bertram C and Anna; sisters Margaret (Jean), Betty and Effie; brother Wesley and the mother of his children Sheila. He is survived by his son David (Joe); daughters Debbie, Trish, Elizabeth and step-children Krista and Tom; 5 grand-children Curtis, Megan, Rachel, Kayla and Josh; great-grandchild Connor. He will be loved and missed forever. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday the 25th from 10am-12pm, service at 12pm with the committal service to follow.
