Basdaye De Gale's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Basdaye De Gale, who left us on January 25, 2025, at the age of 78. Basdaye was a beloved mother, aunt, sister, and friend, whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of many.
Born on March 5, 1946, in Oropune Village in Piarco, Trinidad and Tobago, Basdaye lived a life full of love, compassion, and dedication to her family and community. She was known for her generous spirit, always ready to lend a helping hand or share a comforting word. Her home was a place of welcome and joy, where friends and family gathered to create cherished memories.
Basdaye was a hard worker and an excellent role model, always putting others above herself. She was deeply family-oriented, and her love for her family was evident in everything she did. She was also a great cook, famous for making the best chili that everyone looked forward to at family gatherings.
For many years, Basdaye worked as a newspaper stacker for the St. Petersburg Times. Her dedication and strong work ethic were evident in her career, where she was respected and admired by her colleagues. She took great pride in her work, a trait which was passed down to her children, nieces, and nephews,
Basdaye's legacy is carried on by her children, Roger and Susan De Gale, and Mister Mister, her sister Kamla Ramsaroop, as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her unwavering strength, her fighting spirit and her infectious love for the world around her.
Rest in peace, Basdaye. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
