Barbara Jean Vercellona's Obituary
Barbara Jean Vercellona, age 70, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, at her home in Clarksville, Texas.
Barbara was born on September 12, 1955, in Washington, D.C., to Philip and Eleanor Love. She dedicated much of her life to caring for others as a Licensed Vocational Nurse, a role that reflected her deeply compassionate nature.
Known for her selfless spirit and generous heart, Barbara never turned away a person—or an animal—in need. She had a remarkable way of making everyone feel welcomed and cared for, often opening her home to strangers and offering kindness without hesitation. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy is one of unwavering compassion and service to others.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Roy Vercellona; her daughter, Karen; her cherished granddaughter, Lauren; and her siblings, John, Cheryl, and Billy.
Barbara is survived by her children: Cheryl and Eddie Polk of Ball Ground, Georgia; Jeanna Wagner of Clarksville, Texas; Joseph Vercellona of Port Richey, Florida; Shawn and Mary Vercellona of Spring Hill, Florida; Billie Vercellona of New Port Richey, Florida; and Brandon Gullatte of DeKalb, Texas. She is also survived by her sister, Donna Marie Hannigan of Pinellas Park, Florida; her best friend, Tommi McDonald of Texarkana, Texas; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Barbara’s life was a testament to love, generosity, and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5750 49th St. N., St. Petersburg, Florida 33709 on Monday, April 20th, from 10:00 - 11:00 am, with the Funeral Service starting at 11:00 am. Internment to follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
