Barbara Ann Smith's Obituary
Barbara Ann Smith, 84, of Clearwater, passed away on July 13, 2024. Born on May 3rd, 1940 to her parents Myrel and Beatrice Spencer, Barbara grew up on the family farm in rural Ohio. She attended Roundhead school, a one room schoolhouse that could only be reached by walking uphill, barefoot in the snow, which also happened to be the same route to get home! She was one of twenty students in her graduating class. Barbara held a long career in banking, but spent her free time dedicated to her family and her passions and hobbies. She was a deeply family oriented woman and loved her family dearly, always making sure to attend an annual family reunion or taking the time to make trips home to see her family. She also loved to go bike riding and tending to her garden. She could spend hours searching for shells to collect on the beach and always made sure to catch the sunset, a moment that always brought her great peace. Barbara could also be found doing some light crafting and enjoying time spent with her friends. She was vibrant woman, full of life, who loved dancing, turtles, giraffes, flowers, and a night at the bowling alley.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Myrel and Beatrice Spencer, and her siblings Bill Spencer, Gene Spencer, Kaylene Brinkman, and Tom Spencer. She is survived by her two loving children, Todd Smith and Lori Bills, sister Nancy Greeley, and brother Jerry Spencer. Barbara will be deeply missed but always held dear in the hearts of those who love her.
