I had the honor and pleasure of living next to Barbara for the last 17 years, Barbara would laugh at me when I would say that we had a love and grumpy relationship because we were so much alike it was as if God meant for me to move next to her.
During the Pandemic it difficult for many of us to go shopping sadly I was recovering from injury on top of everything else, however God provides and there was working farm in Dade City that supplying fresh fruit, veggies, fresh, meats and with many restaurants closed this farm hired a professional chef that made many different types of delicious healthy meals that could also be delivered to my area.
So after all the years I lived next door to Barbara I knew she wasn't hard to please when it came to eating.
So when order meals for the week everything came fresh just needed to be heated so I always order two of everything so I could take them too Barbara you can fool her however I told that the meals where buy one get one free and her's was free.
I felt better knowing she was eating healthy during the Pandemic.
This farm was working with local small businesses that otherwise would gone under many these smaller businesses sold pastry one was a Amish lady who made homemade banana bread oh my heavens I would buy many share them with my neighbors Barbara loved them she enjoyed the fresh Strawberries, bananas.
She was my victim when I tried new recipes she never had a unkind word, Barbara was grumpy person but humble, grumpy, but sweet, grumpy but love to laugh.
I told her that she couldn't be grumpy but once a week because I was running out fresh material to make her when she was unhappy and feeling like people just didn't care about her feelings.
There were many of days that she and I would sit out front of her house in chairs and talk, laugh and sometimes cry for hours.
Barbara was indeed a stubborn person just like myself we were both youngest in our families and very demanding to say the least.
She and loved to work out in the yard she help me many times over.
2019 a really sweet kitty just showed up at my and I told it's a felmale and I think it is here to stay so this kitty needs a name she named her Missy and Barbara spoil her and my other Colony kitties too.
I told her we both have to out live these innocent kitties Barbara I will be 84 in Nov I told be thinking where you want to go for your birthday dinner the look on her face was priceless as if she had won the lottery.
I so enjoyed her stories many she repeated but I listen at each one and learned something from each story she shared with me I enjoyed listening to her past life she loved her family, she often spoke about her husband and the pub they owned out at the beach.
Her eyes lit up with each story.
Everyday she count how kitties that I cared for outside and then asked me are they mine and each time I would yes.
Many times I watch her sitting in her chair gently napping with Missy sitting on her lap, I would go outside and say if you didn't party all night you wouldn't be sleeping out here she would laugh.
I was lucky that God brought us together we needed each other my life won't be the same without Barbara in it she was my lottery..
