CARRICK, Barbara Ann, 63, of St. Petersburg passed away February 26, 2016. Born in Elgin, Illinois on September 9, 1952 to Normand and Lola Fitzgerald. Survived by husband of 30 years, Tom; children, Sean Carrick, Lee Ann Gray and Read Obituary
Our friendship began at Brewster Adult Technical School in Tampa Florida. With fun at lunchtime drooling on the surgical tech guys 😊 I had recently moved to Tampa from Michigan. We graduated together and lived together after. We had the time of our life going out for past mid-night breakfasts and pretending we were pregnant and watching people who seemed strange to us and giggling. We were always up to something silly😂😂😂 Babara will be forever missed and will always stay close to my heart.
I am finding it very hard to wrap my head around this, I cannot believe that my beautiful cousin is gone. She was the most loving, kind and special person I have ever known and that laugh of hers was contagious. My thoughts and prayers are with her husband, children and granddaughter at this difficult time. Heaven is so lucky to have her. I love you and will miss you. Until we meet again!
Sadness fills my heart as I will miss my friend greatly. Memories of our shared lunches and many conversations keep running through my mind. All are mixed with the bittersweet knowledge that Barbara now rests with our Lord and she is at peace!
Barbara was my dear first cousin. Our mothers were sisters. She has always been a special person in my life.
I loved her infectious laugh and smile. She was warm and loving to everyone.
Her devotion to her husband Tom, her children Sean, LeeAnn and Jimmy and her grandchildren was so special.
I'm so thankful to have spoken to her only a few days before her death. Who could have imagined it would be the last time?
I only hope she knew how much she was loved. May you rest in peace Barb.
Barbie you will be missed. My prayers go out to your family and friends. You were an inspiration to so many people.
Cheryl Moller (our boss at the time) was away on vacation. Barb and I had a white board in our cubicle and we decided since it was never really used that we would use it to post daily activities. We decided to have a macaroni art day. We went home and spray painted enough rigatoni for the entire dept. both necklaces and bracelets. Please keep in mind we were way too old to be doing this. Our kids were too old to do this. Cheryl came back to her team meeting, all of us including the guys were wearing macaroni jewelery. Of course, Cheryl's set was wrapped as a gift and she gracefully accepted it. She put it on without hesitation. Well, here's the best part. It was John Guest's (Dept head) first day and he wanted to meet his team. Cheryl was a part of this team. She forgot she had on her beautifully decorated rigatoni's. She went into this meeting with John and he said, "Cheryl do you have children"? Without missing a beat Cheryl said, "Yes 30 of them" !! Barb and I laughed about this every time we saw each other through the years. Barb had a great sense of humor and just the right amount of crazy! Loved her then and I will love her forever. I will always remember her laugh. She is and will always be one of the most wonderful people I have ever had in my life. I feel privileged to have had the opportunity to know such a beautiful person, She worked hard, played hard, and loved hard. She will be missed.
To the family and friends of Barbara: I am so sorry for the loss of your wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin, friend. I will miss Barbara's wonderful smile and her stories about her granddaughter, Ivy, whom she clearly thought the world of! I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers at this time of great sorrow. Know that she was loved by the Pinellas County Job Corps Center staff and students and she will be missed. My heart is broken.
