Barbara Ackerman's Obituary
Barbara Ackerman passed away Sunday, Aug. 27, in Pasadena, FL, after a long illness.
She always found joy in her love of dance and exercise. She devoted her life to caring for the elderly, in health care facilities and one-on-one. Later she volunteered in nursing homes.
Born in Chicago as Barbara Jean Ludwigsen, she spent most of her life in St. Petersburg and surrounding towns. She was the daughter of Dolly Ruth McCoy and Edwin Bruce Ludwigsen, and attended Boca Ciega High School.
She moved with her husband, Donald I. Ackerman to Seminole in the late 1970s, and lived there until his death in 2012.
She is survived by her two sons, Frank Foster Barnes, Jr. of St. Pete Beach FL, and Charles Edwin Barnes of Seminole FL; and by two brothers, Edwin James Ludwigsen of Spring Lake NC, and Ronald McCoy Ludwigsen of Hope Mills NC.
