Azalea "Ann" Olive's Obituary
Azalea "Ann" Bray Olive, 98, passed away on March 21, 2025, at The Willows in Oxford, Florida. She was born on September 5, 1926, in Millport, Alabama, to William and Kate Bray.
During World War II, Ann and her twin sister, Azalee, answered the call to service by traveling to Memphis, Tennessee, to train in the Cadet Nurse Corps. Although the war ended before she could serve in that capacity, she pursued a fulfilling career in nursing. Ann worked as a registered nurse at the Old Mound Park Hospital in St. Petersburg, Florida, before continuing her service at Bay Pines Veterans Administration Hospital until her retirement.
Ann found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She loved golfing, spending time at the beach, traveling, and expressing herself through dance and song. A talented dancer, she won numerous jitterbug contests over the years.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna Buxbaum Arnott and her husband Dennis, and Charlotte Buxbaum Grayson; grandson Dana Michael Arnott and his wife Katrina; great-grandson Derek Michael Arnott; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings Willa Hand, Kate Jenkins, James Bray, Azalee Neff, and William Bray.
A private ceremony has taken place, and Ann was laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vitas Hospice. http://vitascommunityconnection.org
