Arnold Rumph's Obituary

Rev. Arnold Rumph went to be with his Lord and Savior on June 19th after a period of declining health. He is preceded in death by his first wife Ann Marie Rumph and is survived by their 6 children and their spouses Albert (and Sue Rumph), Amy (and Daniel Di Giacinti), Robby Rumph (and Ana Campoo), Ed Rumph (and Chris Block), Cindy Rumph de Ruiz (and Juan Fernando Ruiz), and Cristina Rumph, as well as 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife Cathy Rumph and her children, Robert Plummer and Tracey Plummer, and 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his siblings and spouses: Henry and Lammie Rumph, Hilbert and Diny Rumph, Hilda and John Steenbergen, and his sister Alice Van Dyke. He is survived by his brothers and spouses Jake and Teresa Rumph, and Albert and Ann Rumph as well as his brother-in-law Ralph Van Dyke.
Arnold was born in Koekange, the Netherlands, and immigrated to Ontario, Canada, and then attended Calvin Seminary in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He later earned his Master of Divinity degree at Princeton, New Jersey. He served churches in Cobourg, Fruitland and Hamilton, Ontario Canada before studying Spanish in Costa Rica and serving as a missionary in Argentina (La Plata), Puerto Rico (San Juan), Guatemala (Guatemala City), Mexico (Mexico City), California (Pasadena) and as a pastor in Chula Vista, California. He retired to Florida where he served as a pastor in Clearwater and Venice Beach, enjoying his final years in St. Petersburgh.
