Anthony James Volonino Sr.
July 15, 1936 – July 4, 2015
Anthony “Tony” Volonino was the co-inventor of the first soap tablet in 1953 called “Saponette’s”. He moved to St. Petersburg in 1965 from Brooklyn, New York. Tony left as Secretary Treasurer of International Stereotype & Electrotypers Union 1 and 100 and was Secretary Treasurer of Omega Alpha Beta fraternity. He worked in the insurance industry for 12 years as LUTC and Financial Consultant NASD. Tony did storm adjusting in the Midwest and western states.
Tony was the owner of local construction companies, JARONA and Seville Construction. He was co-owner with wife Pat of Aldo’s Italian Restaurant, Coastal Commercial Real Estate Investments and Remodeling and many rental properties. Also co-owner of assorted various businesses.
Pre-deceased by his wife of 23 years, Patricia K. Volonino on 8/30/2009. Father to Frank Volonino (Lindy), Anthony Volonino Jr., and Catherine Volonino Mierz, all of Florida. Second Dad to Sherry Wilson, Randall Speakman, and William Speakman. Grandfather to Jacob Speakman, Robby and Jamey Wilson, Ciara Speakman, Jared Speakman, Kevin Wilson, Kendal and Zoe Mierz, and Lindsey Bauer. First wife, Roseann J Volonino.
