Tony was born in the Bronx, New York and raised in Bridgeport, CT. He received his bachelor degree in accounting from the University of Bridgeport, a proud accomplishment as he was the first family member to receive an college degree. Thereafter he was employed as an accountant at Sperry (Remington) Rand in Bridgeport and Dun & Bradstreet in Wilton. While he lived in CT he was active with the Pop Warner Football League for which his sons played. He owned the former Portside Restaurant in Westport, CT and the former Hungry Knight Restaurant in Ridgefield, CT. He moved to Florida in 1985 with his wife Diana and maintained his accounting firm through the present day.
Tony was a cat lover and especially loved his cats, Smuckers, Katie, Whiskers and his good friend Zachary, Whisker's twin. Tony also loved boating and owned a beautiful boat, Diana's Dream, which he loved and enjoyed for many years in CT and in FL. Over the past ten years, Tony enjoyed taking many cruises with Connie, including a cruise to Alaska. Tony also enjoyed the annual cruises that Connie arranged for her family reunions and the recent reunion in Mexico. Tony loved music, whether singing karaoke with friends or going with his love Connie to dance the nights away on the weekends at the American Legion in Seminole. Tony lived life to the fullest and fought to keep going after he was diagnosed with cancer. Having been in the restaurant business for many years, he still enjoyed going out to dinner for prime rib or veal scallopiini, topped off with his favorite chaser, Southern Comfort.
Whether you knew him as Anthony, Tony, Daddy O or Poppy, you know that throughout his life and right up to his death, he did everything like the classic Frank Sinatra song says, he did it his way. He will be missed by all.
