Anselmo Nazareno Grillo's Obituary
Anselmo Nazareno Grillo, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on February 7, 2025. Born in Parghelia, Italy, on January 3, 1937, to Franco and Marie Elizabeth Grillo, Anselmo embarked on a new journey at the age of 18 when he moved to America, initially settling in Mansfield, Ohio. In the early 2000s, he made his way to Florida, where he continued to build a life filled with love and joy.
Anselmo is survived by his devoted wife of 47 years, Adeline Grillo; his cherished children, Lisa Grillo, Frank Grillo, and Lorie Linn; his adored grandchildren, Michelle Klym, Bianca Mason, Anselmo Grillo, Michael Grillo, Erica Linn, and Ryan Linn; and many great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sister, Grazia Arena, and brothers, Andrea Grillo and Eugidio Grillo, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Bishop Girolamo Grillo.
Anselmo was a man of many talents and passions. He was renowned for his wine-making skills and his exceptional gardening, which produced beautiful flowers, fruits, and vegetables. An avid soccer player well into his 50s, Anselmo later found joy in playing shuffleboard. His great sense of humor, generosity, and charitable nature endeared him to all who knew him. He loved traveling and going on cruises, always seeking new adventures.
Above all, Anselmo was a dedicated family man who treasured the time spent with his loved ones. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Anselmo will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
A visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Thursday, February 13th from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Funeral mass will take place the following morning, February 14, 2025 at 9:30 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Anselmo will be laid to rest at Memorial Park Cemetery at 11:00 am, following mass.
