Angela Aliprantis' Obituary
ANGELA ALIPRANTIS, 93 of St. Petersburg, FL passed peacefully October 14, 2022. She follows her parents Sultana and Constantin Sitas and siblings Dimitrios Sitas and Helen Garvis. Born February 15, 1929 in the Romanian city of Ploesti, Angela had quite the dramatic journey moving from the grips of communism to Greece, then Australia, Canada, New York, and finally St. Petersburg. Meeting the love of her life in Greece, she married John Aliprantis in Australia. They were blessed to share close to 60 years together before John passed in 2013. After working over 23 years in New York, they retired to St. Petersburg, Florida where they enjoyed Florida’s sunshine for almost 33 years.
During retirement, they enjoyed traveling around the world, visiting relatives in Australia, were season ticket holders of the Florida orchestra, enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and were active at St. Stefanos Greek Orthodox Church.
Angela leaves behind two sister-in-laws - Viorica Tanase and Vassilissa Sitas; her nieces and nephews (and their children and many greats) - Ahilea Brisimis, Denise Voulgarakis, MaryAnne Plastiras, Angela Coates from Australia; as well as in St. Petersburg - Gina Burkett, George Tanase, Debby Lewis and Michele Prentice. All of her family will miss Tanti Angela’s distinctive interest in their lives and all the knitting, sewing, and cooking that she did for her loved ones.
A service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, Florida at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, October 19th, burial to follow at 3:00 pm with Makaria at 4:00 pm for family and friends.
