Alice Emerich Sweet's Obituary
Alice Emerich Sweet, 85, went to be with her Lord on April 7, 2021, at home in St. Petersburg. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Alice's life was characterized by her faithfulness to her husband, children and her savior, Jesus Christ.
Alice was born in Reading, PA on April 12, 1935, the second of three daughters, to Raymond and Edith Mann Emerich. Her family moved to St. Petersburg in 1947.
Alice married Edward Louis Sweet on January 16, 1952. Their love for one another stayed strong through all their years together. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Edward, son Daniel, sons-in-law Alan Hayes and Dale Wells, and grandson Isaiah Lloyd.
Survived by daughters Deborah Hayes, Lois Wells, Sarah (Craig) Fish, Eunice (Michael) Hart, daughter-in-law Lisa Sweet. Grandchildren: Sarah Joy, Esther, Aaron, Adam, Audrey, Heather, Benjamin, Andrew, Caleb, Danielle, Spencer, Bethany, Michael Jr., Keegan, 8 great children, two sisters Judith Judy and Marilyn Rae Jacoby, nieces and nephews.
Alice enjoyed spending time with her family most of all. She also enjoyed going to church, singing, reading, writing letters, and crocheting. For more than 50 years she crocheted afghans for family members, including a blanket for every family grandchild and great grandchild that joined her family.
Alice sewed and crocheted hundreds of items to donate to Operation Christmas Child and other ministries.
