Alfonso Sandoval's Obituary
Alfonso Sandoval, 81, peacefully passed away surrounded by his loved ones on the 25th of july, 2024.
He will be greatly cherished in his memory of having a strong spirit in midst of hardships.
Alfonso was devoted to the wellbeing of his family and was elated to be reunited with multiple extended family members on his relative´s farm in may 2024.
His ultimate wish in exploring the Colombian countryside and ¨Pueblitos¨ (smaller villages or towns) was completed alongside his loving wife, three wonderful children and two beloved granddaughters.
Not privy to futbol politics, Alfonso watched any futbol match with an elevated focus on players´skill and loved to coach them ¨virtually¨ through the television screen.
His sense of humor was always highlighted with the perfect Colombian idioms and catchphrases. Famously Alfonso´s most said catchphrase is -"echele aire"-
The phrase embodies his diligence towards moving forward with never giving up. One of his favorite songs , ¨Los caminos de la vida¨ reflects his personal mantra that life continues beyond our misfortunes and we must accept tomorrow will come.
Alfonso enjoyed the feeling of serenity at the beach early in the morning and fishing til he saw the sunset.
He was always stretching during his daily two mile walks with his family and Otto, the family dog, Alfonso loved him greatly. Once detailing that Otto could understand all of his words and experience love just like us humans.
At this time his family is comforted with the completion of his final wish, to see the Colombian mountainside. His two granddaughters are eternally grateful to experience ábuelito alfonso´homeland through his eyes.
The celebration of Alfonso sandoval life will be held at an intimate gathering, as per his request, and it will occur at 10:30am on july 30th 2024 at Memorial Park.

Alfonso Sandoval, de 81 años, falleció en paz rodeado de sus seres queridos el 25 de julio de 2024. Será recordado por tener un espíritu fuerte en medio de las dificultades. Alfonso se dedicó al bienestar de su familia y se alegró de reunirse con varios miembros de su familia en la finca de su prima en mayo de 2024. Su último deseo, explorar el campo colombiano y los ¨Pueblitos¨, se cumplió junto a su amada esposa, sus tres maravillosos hijos y sus dos queridas nietas.
Ajeno a la política futbolística, Alfonso veía cualquier partido de fútbol fijándose sobre todo en la habilidad de los jugadores y le encantaba entrenarlos ¨virtualmente¨ a través de la pantalla del televisor. Su sentido del humor destacaba siempre con las perfectas frases hechas y modismos colombianos. La frase más célebre de Alfonso es «échele aire», que representa su diligencia para seguir adelante sin rendirse nunca.
Una de sus canciones favoritas, ¨Los caminos de la vida¨, refleja su mantra personal de que la vida continúa más allá de nuestras desgracias y debemos aceptar que el mañana llegará.
Disfrutaba de la sensación de serenidad en la playa temprano por la mañana y pescando hasta que veía la puesta de sol. Siempre se estiraba durante sus paseos diarios de tres kilómetros con su familia y Otto, el perro de la familia, al que Alfonso quería mucho. Aseguraba que Otto podía entender todas sus palabras y experimentar el amor igual que nosotros los humanos.
En este momento su familia se siente reconfortada con el cumplimiento de su último deseo, ver las montañas colombianas. Sus dos nietas están eternamente agradecidas de vivir la patria del abuelito Alfonso a través de sus ojos.
La celebración de la vida de Alfonso Sandoval se llevará a cabo en una reunión íntima, según su petición, y ocurrirá a las 10:30 am el 30 de julio de 2024 en el Memorial Park.
