Albert M. Tatham's Obituary
Albert Maurice Tatham, 79, went to be with the Lord and Savior on October 8, 2019. He was born at home in Philadelphia on March 21, 1940, and moved to Florida in 1952. He attended Boca Ciega High School but graduated from Tomlinson Vocational School in 1957. After graduation, he went to work for Daniel & Jones Sheet Metal until he opened his own shop in 1979. Tatham Sheet Metal was in business for 15 years. He retired in 2003. He was a member of SMWIA Local 15 for many years. In the mid-1980s, he was involved with St. Petersburg High School Band Boosters and traveled from one end of the state to the other. He moved to Ironwood, Michigan, in 2004, and bought an old farm house built in 1890 to renovate. He and his wife were very involved with HOPE Animal Shelter, Festival Ironwood and other community events. They moved back to Florida in 2016 and lived in Kenneth City.
He is survived by his wife of 54 and a half years, Edna Tatham; a daughter, Linda Tatham McHenry; son, Shawn Albert Tatham; “adopted” daughter Teri Lee; “adopted” son Willie Siplin; and grandchildren Chelsea Marie Tatham, Brooke Taylor Jones and Giovanni McHenry as well as extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents, Evelyn and Albert B. Tatham, beloved grandmother Florence Lamb, and brothers Roger and Stephen.
Special thanks to Suncoast Hospice and Freedom Square Seminole. In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted at Suncoast Hospice or a charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. October 26 at Memorial Park in St. Petersburg.
