Mr. Adolfo R. Marzol's Obituary
Marzol, Adolfo Roberto, born in Matanzas, Cuba on June 7th, 1935, entered his eternal life with Christ on May 20th, 2015. He is survived by Maria L. Marzol, his devoted wife of 55 years, his son Adolfo and his wife Tommie Jean, his son Jorge and his wife Edie, and his beloved grandchildren Thomas (19), Marissa (19), Evelyn (14) and Preston (13). Adolfo was a proud graduate of Louisiana State University where he earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering and later earned a Master’s Degree in Engineering Administration from the University of South Florida. Coming to the United States from Cuba in 1961, he went to work for Babcock and Wilcox in St. Petersburg in 1962, became a group leader and retired after 38 years of service. Adolfo was a loving and devoted husband and father, as well as a great friend to many. He was a deeply committed Catholic in word and deed, and helped those in need through many hours of charitable work through organizations, including Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent de Paul, Boy Scouts, Catholic Marriage Encounter, Cursillos de Christiandad and Camino. He will be long remembered for his intelligence, wit, patience and generosity of spirit even when he battled serious health issues throughout much of his adult life.
A visitation will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home in St. Petersburg, on Friday, May 29th, 7:00 – 9:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Raphael Catholic Church in St. Petersburg, on Saturday, May 30th at 11:30am.
