Achilles Nicholas Vaseliades' Obituary
Vaseliades, Achilles Nicholas, 75, of Gulfport, Florida, died at home Saturday, May 31, 2008. He was born in Salonika, Greece and moved to Spartanburg, SC at a young age. He was a yearly visitor with his family to Pass-a-grille Beach since 1940 and moved to this area permanently in 1950. He attended Wofford College in South Carolina, Vanderbilt in Tennessee and the University of Miami. He served in the United States Army. In the 60's and 70's he owned several automobile businesses. He worked in the car sales industry in St. Petersburg and Tampa and was an independent jewelry salesman to the date of his death. He was a former member of Florida Independent Automobile Dealers Association and the Jewelers Board of Trade. He was the former co-'owner of a nightclub in St. Petersburg. He was Greek Orthodox. He was the grandnephew of Photios, the ecumenical patriarch of the Eastern Orthodox Church in Constantinople. His hobbies included photography and cooking, which was his passion. He is survived by his wife, Catherine; three sons, Aristotle A., Honolulu, Hawaii, Nicholas, and Michael, both of St. Petersburg; a daughter Constantina Guice of Buffalo, New York; four grandchildren and many loving friends and family
