There a life full of memories, of course. Oddly enough I cannot remember a funny anecdote. Although Dad could be stern, he has a gently, funny side for sure. He always said he couldn’t sing. His one song was the box song, which he would sing in the car for us when we were little. The lyrics were, well, “box”. The song lasted each time about 20 seconds. (most likely we were all grateful, i don’t recall) He would count toes and tell mixed up fairy tales as far back as I can remember. Although I don’t remember long periods of “daddy time” alone, I do remember jumping up on him when I was little (actually, also when I was not so little) when he was lying on the couch in the family room with his shirt in his mouth and a book or paper/pencil in hand. When Dad put his big, gentle hand on me, that was all that was needed sometimes. No Dad is perfect, but he tried to be the best Dad he could be. He gave us much. He was artistic and creative (ok, that was perhaps more of a hidden talent), SMART, loved mom, taught us manners and respect, encouraged our decisions and independence, always continued to learn, and brought us to church every Sunday. I am so thankful to God that the Hank so many people loved and appreciated was my DAD! See you soon again Daddy! #4
